The City Wonders Ground Zero tour

City Wonders runs a 1 hour 40 minute walk from Church Street through the Oculus, Brookfield Place and Liberty Park to the FDNY Wall and the pools, with headsets so you hear every word. It's the lowest price on the site, and the guide hands you a Museum ticket at the door if you add one.

9/11 Memorial & Ground Zero Tour, Optional Museum

About this experience

City Wonders runs this walk from the north-east side of the site. You meet on the plaza outside the M Social Hotel at Church and Fulton Streets, where the guide holds a City Wonders flag. The route, per the listing: St. Paul's Chapel, the Oculus, Brookfield Place, Liberty Park, the FDNY Memorial Wall with the 343 firefighters' names, and the Memorial pools.

The walk ends at the 9/11 Museum entrance. If you added Museum admission, the guide gives you the ticket there and you go in alone; a guided Museum tour isn't included. Everyone gets a headset, which helps on a loud plaza, and the group caps at 20.

Know the limits. The listing says the tour is not wheelchair accessible and asks for moderate fitness. With 73 reviews it has a far smaller track record than the ExperienceFirst walk, and a September 2026 guest's tour was called off for bad weather. Most reviews are warm about the guides, some of whom were in New York that day.

  • The lowest price of any Ground Zero tour here
  • Headsets for every guest
  • Groups of 20 at most
  • Brookfield Place and Liberty Park, which most walks skip
  • The guide hands over your Museum ticket at the door

What guests say

★★★★★

Rob was an amazing tour guide. It was very meaningful to have a tour guide who was actually there and can share personal stories. He has so much knowledge and knows everyone in the places we stopped. We highly recommend this tour to put a visit to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in context.

It’s sad and amazing at the same time. We had a beautiful day and a great tour guide. I would recommend the extra $ for the guide. It’s the little details that make a difference

Tips before you book

  • Take the subway to Fulton Street: the meeting point is right above it.
  • Add the Museum ticket at checkout if you want to go in; the guide hands it to you at the end.
  • Bring layers. The listing asks for them, and most of the walk is outside.
  • Book the Museum for the same day. It closes on most Tuesdays, so avoid this tour on a Tuesday if you want to go in.
