9/11 Memorial Museum Admission Ticket

About this experience

The 9/11 Museum sits seven stories below the Memorial plaza, at the foundations of the Twin Towers. You enter through the glass pavilion between the two pools, pass airport-style security and walk down a long ramp to Foundation Hall, with the slurry wall and the Last Column. The two main exhibitions are In Memoriam, honoring the people killed on 9/11 and in the 1993 bombing, and September 11, 2001, which tells the story of the day and what followed.

The ticket is the Museum's own, and the price on Viator is the official one: $36 for an adult in 2026. You get a timed entry and can stay until closing, but there is no re-entry once you leave. The Museum's visit page suggests at least 45 to 90 minutes; the listing says two hours, and guests report two to three.

Go without a guide if you like to read and set your own pace. If you want context first, book a walk that ends at the Museum door, such as the Ground Zero walking tour, or rent the $11 audio guide inside. The Museum is open Wednesday to Monday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., closed on most Tuesdays, with last entry at 5:30 p.m.

What guests say

★★★★★

A lot to see and experience so take your time to soak it all in. We spent a good 2 1/2 - 3 hrs in the museum. They did a great job spacing things out and all the visitors were very respectful of one another.

Not my first visit yet still impactful and moving. Special kudos to all the volunteers who engage with the public and are super helpful. We had a wheelchair in our party and it is a very accessible space.

The memorial is very well done and a wonderful tribute to the victims and families. Quite somber but necessary. Plan something uplifting after your visit or stop by one of the churches.
